It’s no secret that thorough SoC verification is hard to achieve. Quickly deriving a comprehensive test set for meaningful coverage, synchronizing multithreaded software and hardware workflows and efficient use of system resources are all daunting tasks. This is further exacerbated by the lack of portability of the test between simulation, emulation, and actual SoC as well as the inability to reuse the test in other verification projects. As SoC becomes larger and more complex, verification is becoming an integral part of the development process.
